BEIJING, Feb. 25 (People’s Daily Online) -- As drone threats become increasingly complex and diverse, China’s anti-drone technology has achieved remarkable breakthroughs, with a series of advanced systems and technologies emerging, highlighting the country’s strength in independent research and development and practical combat capabilities in the field of airspace security.
The transformation of drone detection technology has laid a solid foundation for accurate threat identification. Moving beyond the limitations of traditional single-band detection, multi-band fusion technology integrates multiple sensing methods to form an all-weather, all-round perception network . This technology can effectively distinguish drones from birds, kites and other interfering targets, with a false alarm rate controlled within 0.01%, solving the industry pain points of "failure to detect" and "inaccurate identification" . The integration of multi-modal perception further improves the system’s ability to respond to dynamic targets, ensuring real-time and accurate detection in harsh environments such as strong electromagnetic interference and heavy fog .
Intelligent identification technology, driven by artificial intelligence, has become a core component of anti-drone systems. By efficiently mining and integrating multi-source data, these systems can quickly identify different types of drones and judge their threat levels, adapting to diverse application scenarios from urban security to border control . This intelligent upgrade enables anti-drone systems to move from "passive response" to "active prevention and control", greatly improving defense efficiency .
China’s domestically developed anti-drone equipment has demonstrated outstanding performance in practical applications. The FK-3000 air defense missile system, developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, adopts a 6×6 high-mobility truck chassis and is equipped with four phased array radars, capable of carrying up to 96 small air defense missiles . It integrates soft and hard killing methods such as electronic jamming and artillery, forming a three-layer interception architecture of long, medium and short ranges to effectively counter drone swarms . The system has also been highly recognized by international military media for its high firepower density and cost-effectiveness .
The "Tianqiong" integrated anti-drone defense system, developed by China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), has achieved remarkable results in actual combat, successfully intercepting 21 incoming drones in a single mission in the Middle East, achieving a 100% interception rate . As China’s first large-scale exported fully integrated anti-drone product, it serves about 20 countries and regions, providing customized solutions for different scenarios with its modular and flexible configuration . The system integrates various detection and interception means, including laser weapons and microwave weapons, and can complete the entire process from target discovery to strike in only 15 to 20 seconds .
Experts said that China’s anti-drone technology has gradually formed a complete industrial chain from core components to system integration, and its practical combat capabilities and international influence are constantly improving, providing a reliable technical guarantee for global airspace security governance.
