Meituan Drones: Tai Po Ting Kok Village Route Cuts Meal Delivery Time by 90% for the Elderly
Keeta Drone, a subsidiary of Meituan, has launched a trial drone meal delivery route in partnership with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, running from Hong Kong Science Park to Ting Kok Village in Tai Po. By flying directly and avoiding traffic congestion, delivery time is reduced from over 1.5 hours by road to just 10–15 minutes, solving problems of long distances, labor shortages and long waiting times in remote villages. The trial provides lunch and dinner deliveries from Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays.
Liangping Rainbow YH‑1000S: Heavy‑lift Hybrid Drone Serves Regional Logistics in Mountain and Island Areas
This heavy‑lift drone has a payload of 1.2 tons and a range of 1,500 kilometers. It can take off and land on roads, dirt roads and grasslands, and can operate on water with floating pontoons without dedicated airports. It has completed cargo tests from Liangping to Wulong in Chongqing, solving transportation challenges in remote areas such as mountains, islands and plateaus, while cutting costs by more than 50% compared with traditional transport.
Beibu Gulf Offshore Oilfields: Drone Parcel Delivery Saves Tens of Millions by Replacing Vessels and Helicopters
CNOOC has deployed drones on 41 offshore platforms in the Beibu Gulf for small‑item delivery of spare parts, meals and other supplies. The system saves nearly 15 million yuan annually in vessel rental and fuel costs, reduces carbon emissions by 25,000 tons, and improves delivery efficiency by more than 30%.
